Flexphone cements postion as UK's premier mobile phone benefit provider through Vodafone UK acquisition

Flexphone Ltd announced today that it has been acquired by Vodafone UK, in a move which further substantiates Mobile Salary Saver as the most cost-effective way for UK employees to use a mobile phone.

Flexphone will continue to operate from its base in Ealing, with its current staff, remaining as a separate subsidiary, and with its MD Russell Horton continuing to manage the business.

Said Russell Horton, “Flexphone has been an exclusive business partner of Vodafone since January 2006, and this natural progression will ensure our expertise and unique proposition is married with Vodafone’s established leadership in the business mobile arena. We can draw on Vodafone’s sales and marketing expertise to further drive employee uptake and employees will benefit from an enhanced service, and a wider product range.”

Flexphone’s Mobile Salary Saver gives employers the ability to offer their employees an opportunity to pay for a mobile phone for personal use out of their gross salary, reducing the amount of PAYE and National Insurance that they pay. Based on Vodafone UK’s consumer prices, employees are able to purchase the latest phones and make savings of up to 41%. By agreeing a reduction in annual gross salary, National Insurance contributions for the employer will fall by 12.8%. Based on average annual employee spend of £400 per order, for every 1,000 participants in the scheme, employers can expect to save over £51,000 per annum.

Mobile Salary Saver is offered to nearly 300,000 UK employees from companies including HBOS, IBM, Cancer Research UK, Universal Music, National Grid and Kent County Council.
